There are numerous public and private intuitions of higher education and industrial training options in Millington and in the immediate MSA. The University of Memphis has a branch campus in Millington. The facility is shared by Southwest Tennessee Community College (SWTCC).  SWTCC has aggressively pursued innovative programs to ensure that its students receive current industrial related training. Manufacturing skills and transportation and logistics training are keystones of these programs.  Millington’s Naval Support Activity, Mid South base has branches of the University of Arkansas, Southern Illinois State University, Park University and Webster University. These schools serve the military as well as the local civilian population. Other higher education options are available through Rhodes College and Christian Brothers University. Technical training is available through the Tennessee College of Applied Technology, William Moore College of Technology, Mid South Community College and Vatterott Career College among others.  Commercial Drivers License Training is provided by Swift Transportation in Memphis and Road Master in Millington.
