Millington is located in the Memphis Metropolitan Area. In this labor shed there are over 579,000 workers. From this pool Millington can access workers in any field at competitive rates. Millington does have the advantage of being the location of the Naval Support Activity Mid South facility (NSA). Former military personnel have chosen to remain in the immediate Millington area when their terms of service end. This has blessed Millington with a labor pool of trained workers in many fields. One can find these former military staff in many high level jobs in the immediate Millington area. As the Navy and other military branches release their soldier and sailors from service, the labor pool is constantly reinvigorated with outstanding potential workers.  The 8,000 plus staff of Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine and US Army Corps of Engineers are much sought after by business and industry in the region.

In addition to this outstanding workforce, local educational intuitions are constantly providing current, state of the art training. The University of Memphis shares a local Millington campus with Southwest Tennessee Community College.  In addition to these institutions, the NSA facility has branch facilities for the University of Arkansas, Southern Illinois University, Park and Webster Universities.  The availability of these educational institutions in Millington has provided both the military and local civilian population with unique opportunities for educational advancement.
